Jamie Maule-ffinch is a UK-based writer/director with a passion for character-led stories that balance humour with emotional depth.

For 17 years he has directed major commercials for global brands and agencies, shooting in a classically cinematic style with a sharp eye for performance and comedy.

His debut feature Desperate Wretched People is out for financing with Randan Productions, with Gemma Whelan (Game of Thrones), Colin Morgan (Merlin) and Pixie Lott attached. He has developed the TV comedy-drama Electric Dreamers with FreeTurn Productions and previously co-wrote a comedy for Gaumont with director Dan Zeff (Inside No. 9).

His short films Morning After and The Bathtub Clown won Best Comedy and Best Screenwriting at the Discover Film Festival, and his web series Tits Up was nominated for Best Web Series at the Austin Comedy Short Film Festival.

Jamie is also an improvised comedy performer, not bad photographer, okay drummer, amateur tennis player and - to his family’s delight - a damn fine home cook.
